Existing English tests were built for adults applying to universities
They cost between $65 and $300, take up to three hours, and ask a twelve-year-old about workplace scenarios she has never seen. Families who want to know how their child is actually doing have nothing to sit.
English Check is scored against the same international CEFR levels, priced at $19, and written for children. The questions are about lunchboxes, football and moving to a new school.
